Germany Stands Out In A Broadly Defensive Week

The June 26 weekly snapshot shows a broadly defensive environment across the monitored markets. Most Mosaic portfolios declined with their benchmarks, but Germany40 stood apart with a positive portfolio week while its benchmark was negative.

Germany40 was the clear relative leader, gaining 1.76% against a benchmark decline of 2.14%. The portfolio snapshot held ENR.DE, RWE.DE, IFX.DE, BAYN.DE and DHL.DE, with benchmark hedge exposure at 12.42%.

US exposure remained under pressure. USA100 fell 2.31%, slightly better than the benchmark at -2.38%, while Nasdaq100 declined 4.62% versus -4.50% for the benchmark. The Nasdaq selection was concentrated in MU, TER, NBIS, MRVL and RKLB.

European exposure outside Germany was weaker. Europe50 declined 3.80% versus a benchmark decline of 2.27%, while Italy40 fell 4.49% against -3.25% for the benchmark.

UK100 remained the main benchmark-relative laggard in this snapshot, falling 2.83% while its benchmark rose 0.66%. Australia50 declined 2.54%, close to its benchmark at -2.07%, and is included here as part of the current seven-market weekly coverage.
